Needles are not a favorite form of treatment with many individuals, but an acupuncture treatment can actually put many people to sleep. It involves the insertion of very fine needles into appropriate points for their specific actions relating to the diagnosis. There are over 300 points on the body which aid in healing and relief from pain. These points are located on the channels or meridians which run their course over the body and allow for Qi or “chee” flow freely. When pain is present it usually means that the Qi cannot run thru the channels and is stuck causing an imbalance. The main purpose of acupuncture is to restore the balance by opening up the channels.

Each and every one of us has tried acupuncture/acupressure before and don’t even know it. Massaging the temples when one has a headache is acupressure. It is a very simple treatment but very complex as one has to know the various combinations of points to address a certain problem for the particular individual. It has been proven to be an effective safe alternative and complementary treatment for a variety of conditions and ailments.

The needles used are extremely fine pre-packaged sterilized needles, and are used ONCE only. They are disposed in a biohazard container after each treatment.
