Chiropractic

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic literally translates into “working with the hands”. We use our hands to locate the cause of the problems to remove nerve interferences caused by muscle spasms and or joint/spinal restrictions. We like to consider the cause of the problems not as a disease but as “dis-ease”. By removing interferences related to muscle and spinal joint conditions, the nerve flow can return to its normal function without any restrictions upon it thus removing “dis-ease”

Chiropractors are also well versed in many areas of the body, not just the back and neck. We use physiotherapy together with chiropractic to help attain your overall goals and a state of wellness. By providing you with the necessary treatments and the proper guidance for home exercises, stretching and everyday activities, you will be able to live a healthier and happier lifestyle.

Keeping up with a maintenance program for your spine can keep your spine healthy just like when you go to your dentist for regular checkups and cleaning.

The “Crack”

It is a fact that your brain, spinal cord and the nerves control every aspect of your body. When your joints get locked or fixated, it produces an inflammatory response hence irritating the nerves in the surrounding area. With these irritations come weaknesses, spasms, pain, burning and numbness sensations or even cause the organs of the body to function below their optimum. Chiropractic helps by taking these joints and moving them to their correct positions. This is done by the hands, special tables or even special devices.

You may experience the sounds of “crack” but this is nothing to be alarmed about. This is actually the release of gases that have built up in the joints. By taking the joints to their limit, gases are released and the joints are restored to their proper position and function. Furthermore, pressure or irritation is released from the nerve improving nerve flow and function of the muscles and organs related to it.

Chiropractic not only deals with the neck or back, but we deal with virtually every joint and muscle of the body. Chiropractors are considered the musculoskeletal specialists with many years of post graduate training.
